What UPS (Uninterpretable Power Supply) is required to power a HP MediaSmart Server? - mediasmart server ex

I'm going to buy to buy a EX-475 MediaSmart Home Server and HP want a UPS. I am planning to install an additional 500 GB internal HD and an external 500 GB hard drive. I need a UPS that the server be shut down long enough to allow. This server has a 500W power supply. I do not know if I find a UPS, or assistance do not need 500W.

If your server is a power of 500W, which has a nameplate on the back of the device, you need a UPS with more capacity than the server side. If you go 500 watts, with a 750w or 1 kW UPS. You can use these pretty cheap for a big club or eBay. How long the server to shut down. This gives you an idea of what you are looking for. But yes, if you 500W you need a lot more if they are not working at full load. In general, most UPS backup that have shown more time.

Hope that helps
